Deck invented by: Legacy of the Void

Note: If just starting out, don't change your mark to Death or buy any Poisons until you get Arsenic. This deck will be a Darkness Mono variant to start. Sell excess cards and buy Minor Vampires, then Devourers, then the rest of the Darkness cards (except Parasites) needed to complete this deck, then the Poisons and Parasites after getting Arsenic and changing your mark from Darkness to Death.

This deck is basically designed to apply early pressure while keeping yourself alive. It is also mainly for grinding Elders. Upgrades are COMPLETELY optional. This deck does just fine without them. Usually you will get a Poison, 1-3 Obsidian Pillars, a Minor Vampire and a Devourer in your hand to start. If you get Arsenic in your hand at the start as well as a poison, always play the poison first to avoid losing Arsenic to Deflagration or Steal early on. Your quanta income will be slow to start, but later on you will be fine. For permanent control there are only 2 Steals, so use them wisely. For creature control, there are Parasites, which can use up your excess Death quanta to kill creatures off. The Drain Life spells can be used to lower your opponent's hp or control creatures, and I've found them to be quite invaluable for killing Dragons, keeping Otyugh's health low or even outright killing it. There are 2 of each Nightfall and Dusk Mantle to increase your chance of drawing one, and just in case one gets destroyed/stolen. There is one Black Dragon because if you are not drawing Drain Lifes or if you need to end the game decisively, even one is good to have. Roughly 40-50% of the time this deck will achieve Elemental Mastery against Elders. 70-80% of the time this deck will achieve Elemental Mastery against Normals.

This deck can do just fine against Earthquake decks, Aether Mono, Fractal decks, Fire/Darkness, and Air/Light but it may struggle against the Mass Firefly/Empathic Bond decks, Entropy/Darkness, Death/Darkness, Aether/Entropy, and Mass Scarab decks. Fire/Water absolutely destroys this deck. Your Dusk Mantles will be your only way of surviving against the Mass Firefly/Scarab decks. If you use Eclipse in this deck instead of Nightfall, beware of Maxwell's Demons.

Warning: Pulverizer can cripple this deck because it relies on Dusk Mantle/Nightfall to supply its defence/offence respectively. Lobotomizer is a pain when it takes away your Parasites' Infection abilities and your Vampires' life steal. And Owl's Eye will quickly ruin your offensive capability. Make sure you keep at least one Steal for these cards when playing against a deck that uses them!

Note: You may find your quanta income too low to support upgraded Vampires and that Dragons are impractical due to your low quanta income in the beginning and the need to save quanta for the Drain Lifes later on. Vampire Stiletto can be used in this deck in place of or with Arsenic.
